Your answers will be reviewed and you will then be contacted by email whether you have been approved or denied. If approved, you will be given the special registration link to officially register***

This live webinar will assist LOCUS trainers in development of their training skills as it relates to teaching the LOCUS Dimension on Risk of Harm.   This training will include teaching strategies around independent criteria, sequential risk of harm scoring, risk behaviors, how behaviors related to substance use are used to rate risk of harm, and others. Focus will be on developing and understanding of the many nuances related to risk of harm that trainees must achieve and how to score the tool appropriately for reliability.

10:45-11 a.m.    Break

Objective
  1. Participants will understand teaching strategies for educating on common error patterns associated with Risk of Harm scoring.
  2. Participants will identify how independent criteria is applied in scoring and the approach/exercises that will help with teaching.
  3. Participants will learn about five (5) nuances associated with Risk of Harm scoring and how to ensure participant understanding of those nuances.
Who Should Attend
This event is sponsored by the adult mental health block grant and is intended for persons who serve adults with severe mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders (does not include serving parents of children/adolescents in the CMHSP system) through the mental health provider networks (CMHSP’s and/or their contract agencies) in the state of Michigan. Training is intended for the following agencies: CMHSP/PIHPs and/or contract providers for CMHSP/PIHPs. This training is for those who utilize the LOCUS and plan on providing training within their CMH/PIHP on the utilization of the LOCUS.

CEUs Social Workers: This course qualifies for a maximum of 2.5 Continuing Education hours. The Community Mental Health Association is an approved provider with the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative. Approved Provider Number: MICEC 060818. Qualifies as “face-to-face (in-person) education”.

Substance Use Disorder Professionals: CMHA is approved by Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). CMHA maintains the responsibility for the program and content. Substance Use Disorder Professionals participating in this LOCUS training may receive a maximum of 2.5 specific contact hours. It is important that attendees keep a copy of the conference program brochure containing the workshop descriptions along with their attendance record form.

Cancellation Policy: Substitutions are permitted three business days prior to the training. We request written cancellation notice 7 business days before training (nstratton@cmham.org) if you find that you are unable to attend once you have registered.
