If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to work as a Specialized Residential Program Coordinator and make a difference in our community and the lives of the individuals we serve.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Specialized Residential Program Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work closely with primary clinicians providing utilization management to determine the appropriate placement level of care for individuals served. You will also work with various organizations and teams including ISK contract agencies, MDHHS, the Center for Forensic Psychiatry, Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital, and the ISK Behavioral Treatment Review Committee to find the most suitable specialized residential or Supported Independent Living placements for individuals diagnosed with a mental health and/or substance use disorder as well as physical/medical conditions. Part of your role will also include creating behavior treatment plans and partnering with the Western Michigan University Psychological Assessment and Treatment Team to make sure those you place have their health and safety needs adequately addressed and monitored.
What We Require
A Master’s degree licensed professional with a minimum of three years’ experience in behavioral health care services working with adults. Experience working with individuals living in specialized residential setting and supported independent living placements preferred. You must also have one of the following Michigan Licensures: Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP). Limited licenses will be considered. A valid Michigan Driver’s License is required.
A strong understanding of the needs of persons with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders is needed. You will understand how to implement a strong recovery philosophy and be able to collaborate and develop teams.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.
Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
