Position Summary: The Recipient Rights Officer serves to protect, promote and advocate for the Rights of individuals receiving mental health services. Provides leadership and responsible for the planning, organizing and oversight of the day to day operation of the Office of Recipient Rights. Conducts comprehensive complaint investigations, contract monitoring site visits, and training. Develops and maintains Recipient Rights policies and provides written reports and feedback to the Recipient Rights Advisory Committee, the Board of Directors, and the State of Michigan Office of Recipient Rights. Supervised the Recipient Rights Advisor.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate Mental Health Discipline
Experience: Five or more years’ experience working in the mental health field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer proficiency, ability to organize and manage several projects/tasks simultaneously, work independently and with teams. Preferred candidates will possess experience as a consumer advocate and/or investigator. Must have reliable means of transportation and maintain safe driving record.
